The great English studio potter, Bernard Leach, once said of American pottery that it lacked depth owing to its absence of a “cultural taproot.” I believe that each of us contains our own taproot within – one which connects us to a deep well of nourishment, energy and comfort. I seek to create living spaces that enable this essential connection – natural, textured, calming, spirited, with the hand of the maker evident throughout.
